I was given this beautiful set a few years ago, and I still treasure it today! Calico Critters look soooo cute sitting in the bathtub, (the little ones especially with their ears sticking out!!). This set should definitely be for older kids because of the small parts like shampoo and rinse bottles, wash brush, perfume, etc. The neat thing about this set is you actually get to stick the labels on almost everything like shampoo, toothpaste etc. Even the toilet seat and lid covers are very nicely made! I would highly reccommend this set to anyone that has any Calico Critters, kids and adults alike! I am almost 12 years old and I still have hours of fun with Calico Critters!!

My four year old daughter loves the calico critters line but our favorite so far is probably this bathroom set. She loves to have them takes baths and go potty and we are amazed at the tiny toothpaste and toothbrush, the little sponge, back scrubber, soap and bottles for the bath and even a bucket with toilet cleaner and brush. this set is not for a child who loves to haul pieces all over the house though. My daughter is pretty good at keeping the pieces in the dollhouse but if she wasn't I would be disappointed because it is such a CUTE set! We really have been delighted with all the calico critters sets we have (about 5 now). They are great products to encourage imagination and role play.

The level of detail in the Calico Critters toys I've given my daughter has been astonishing -- THIS is what toys ought to be like! They're utterly precious, very tiny and very, VERY detailed, absolutely wonderful! Expect a difficult time getting the tiny toilet seat cover onto the toilet seat. I was successful after turning it inside-out and then gently working it onto the toilet seat. Be patient and identify the items the stickers are meant for. Some of the stickers are incredibly small, so plan on being patient there, too. But isn't that what being a parent is about? Patience..?
These are DELIGHTFUL toys and worth every single penny. 100% satisfied.

The signature piece of the Calico Critters collection, this 3-story home has nine rooms to design and decorate. The real-life attention to detail includes spiral staircase, front porch railing and steps, second story balcony and attachable front porch lanterns. Bay windows, upstairs French doors and front door open and close. It measures 17" x 17.5" x 17". It comes already assembled except for detailed accessories.

We were determined to give our daughter a dollhouse for her 3rd birthday. We considered FP Loving Family, Barbie, and half a dzoen chunky wooden dollhouses and accessories before settling on Calico Critters. She was enamored with the tiny animal families in the toy stores, which is what really helped us to decide.
I agree with a previous reviewer that the scale of the furniture is terribly tiny, but that is actually more appealing to our daughter, who is very petite and feminine and attracted to miniscule things. The house is not perfect... the rooms aren't sized appropriately for the furniture sets. However, my daughter likes to move furniture and rooms around from time to time anyway and isn't particular about such things. My biggest concerns are with sturdiness (4 out of 5) and play value (5 out of 5).
After 3 months, we are still very satisfied with this house. It is a winner with our young daughter, and even with our 5 yr. old son, as the house is NOT pink... Read more

This is a gorgeous, well-built house, with windows and doors that open and close and other beautiful details like a spiral staircase and dormer windows. And the furniture and accessories sold separately are also adorable and well-made. I love the fact that the inhabitants of the house are animals --- they give it such a storybook quality.
My daughters (3 1/2 and 5) can't stop playing with their house and critter family. Sure, some of the accessories are tiny, but that's what seems to capture their attention and imaginations the most.
At first, I thought I'd buy a wooden house for them, but they hardly play with the one at their preschool -- it seems the boxy, generic furniture and accessories for those houses don't hold their interest for long. Not so with the Calico Critters house. They play for hours putting their critters to bed, giving them baths or setting up little picnics for them.

You know...this series of toys sounds suspiciously akin to one of my favorite comic books, Silvania families. Anyway, on with the review.
It's a very fun toy, though pretty much plain without the accessories. Be prepared to spend a small fortune for your little ones. It's educational value is in it's lovely architectural design, as well as inner fixtures, etc.
Get at least one or two families and 2 sets of accessories and I guarantee that this house will entertain for years to come.

Ring the school bell, set the clock, open the doors and write on the chalkboard lots of activities to keep young pupils entertained for hours. Includes chalk, teacher and five student figures, school bus, slide, swing and teeter-totter. Schoolhouse is 13" tall

I was disappointed with this product. I expected a high quality school house like I had as a child. Not the case here, unfortunately. The pull down chalkboard is made of plastic, so you really can't draw on it. The swing is flimsy and does not hold together, the bell is hard for the kids to ring. Overall, not well made for the price or for play.

I was looking for a toy schoolhouse for my nephew, reminiscent of the toy schoolhouse by 'Little People' that I had in the 1970's. They claim to have a 50th anniversary version, so I checked it out. None of the people, pieces, chalkboard, etc., are the same as the original, and none are functional. The house is a waste of money.
Then I discovered the Learning Resources Schoolhouse and was thrilled! Moving pieces, people, chalkboard, playground equipment, and it all stores back in the schoolhouse. It's wonderful, and my nephew, who is 2, loves it.

I bought this schoolhouse for my son, who loves school. I wanted the old-school Fisher-Price schoolhouse I used to play with in the '70s - magnetic letter board on one side of the roof, chalkboard on the other, school desks and playground equipment. This seemed like the closest to it, as Fisher-Price now only makes a tiny replica of their original toy.
Sadly, this doesn't match up. The plastic is thin and flimsy. I think it would be pretty easy to snap pieces in half with a little effort, versus the tough extruded-type plastic used in most Little People sets. The schoolhouse steeple pops off very easily, and I can just tell it's going to get lost. There are several people, which is great, but they are awkward and hard for small fingers to manipulate. There are only desks for two students, although there are about six included with the set. I guess the other four are just supposed to drive around on the bus all day!
